The bruise was there, cruel and distinct: a finger-shaped mark, pressed into her lower back as though someone had tried to pin her down with force.
Remus’ jaw clenched. He swallowed hard against the surge of fury that threatened to spill out of him.

“It’s Mr. Lupin tonight,” he reminded her softly, his voice tinged with something almost shy. “I’m not attending as anything else.”
Tonks paused, and the sound of her hairbrush slowed. The weight of his words, as her husband, settled warmly between them.Tonks receiving her ministry orders with Remus!
