“You have to tutor me,” Jayce blurted out. “I mean, can you? Please? This is kind of embarrassing, but I can’t move anything with the Force. At all. You're the best of us younglings. I can make you all the parts you need in return—"
“Yes,” Viktor finally interrupted. "I'll do it."
"Why is this necessary?" Jayce asks, staring into the red eyes of the Sith Lord's mask. "Why is it necessary to blow up buildings, start battles, kill innocents, deploy weapons, sacrifice troops?”
“Because it’s you, Jayce!” Viktor yells, and the trees shake in the aftershock.
Jayce and Viktor grow up together at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, but are destined to become bitter enemies on opposite sides of the Force. When the time comes, Viktor is a Sith Lord whose plans threaten the entire galaxy, and Jedi Knight Jayce Talis may be the only one who can stop him.
