The man’s scent flares and his pupils blow wide. The reaction – even though Robby knows it’s just the pre-Rut – is enough to make Robby not try and take it back or offer him an out.
“Yeah?” Jack asks, vulnerable.
“Yeah,” Robby breathes, a flush rising on his face.or; when Robby gets injured and triggers Jack's pre-Rut, they're both forced to confront their feelings for one another.

A loud, high pitched beeping filled the room, and the screen up on the window flashed red, displaying a smiling, strawberry blond, curly haired man, with a slight stubble, the Identification flashing Peter Quill.
Kraglin nearly leaped forward to press the answer button, but Yondu stopped him, calmly clicking the button himself. Peter’s dirty face appeared on the screen, looking more than a little nervous.
“Hi Dad, Pa,” greeted Peter, smiling wearily.
“Where da hell ‘ave ya been, boy?” Asked Yondu asked, as his eyes fluttered around his boy's face. Dirt up his cheek, and forehead, a slight cut on his eyebrow.
“Dealin’ with a Karpalion, nasty bastards. Sharp teeth and claws, but like ta crush their victims fer fun.” Peter explained, “but uh... don’t be mad..." He said, tone more nervous now.
Kraglin frowned, “why? What ‘appened? ‘R’ ya ‘urt?”
“No, no..." Assured Peter, waving a dismissive hand. “‘M fine... just... y’know? We was flyin’ back, and Rocket crashed The Milano.”Or;
Peter's ship crashes with his crew, and so calls his parents; Yondu and Kraglin.

Jack looked from the intern picture to Robby again, rubbing a tired hand over his eyes. "Jesus, this is like a recipe." He gestured between the picture and Robby, young and old. "It's like twink plus seasoning equals daddy. Fuck," he said, a kind of helpless note to it. Then he walked out, like he hadn't just dropped a bomb on Robby's head.
