Summary
After watching Aziraphale leave him, Crowley decides to try to sleep off the grief. A terrible nightmare makes his powers go haywire and he accidentally travels back in time to 1717 where he finds himself in a bar in Tortuga. He shares a drink with a man named Ed who he seems to have a lot in common with. A lot in common. The easiest way to comfort each other and distract themselves is to spend the night together.
________________________________“Why are you miserable?” Ed asks sharply.
“Now that’s not fair,” Crowley points at him over his glass. “I asked you first.”
Ed blinks at him.
“Why would I talk to you about it?”
“Because I’m here,” Crowley shrugs, “and no one else is.”

Summary
Ed and Stede are together again, and it's right and good. But Ed can't keep himself from daydreaming about the way things were during their first few weeks together on the revenge, before Stede left. Stede finds a way to take them back, just for a night.
_________________________Those memories have a golden hue. Every day had been something new. Every act of affection and care that Stede paid to Ed had been another unexpected pleasure. Ed used to steal the smallest, most innocent touch and savor it for the rest of the day like a candy on his tongue. He used to spend his nights remembering warm smiles and kind words from the day and imagining more. More. Everything.
“I just miss it sometimes,” Ed finally says, the confession escaping him in a heavy breath.

Summary
Stede dotes on Ed in the bedroom. Ed sure as hell isn’t complaining, but it makes it hard for him to repay the favor. So he decides to create a few ground rules. It works out beautifully, and then even better when Stede breaks his leash.

“Yup,” Ed says, “Say the word, and you get to touch me wherever you want, however you want, until I tell you to stop.”

Summary
Oxygen rushes back into his brain and the euphoria of cheating death starts to pump through his body as he stares at Jack’s cocky expression - familiar and handsome and very close.
“Hey, you gonna make it?" Jack asks, then says with a smirk,"You need me to give you mouth to mouth?”
Ed chokes out a laugh, grabs Jack by the front of his shirt and yanks him forward to crush their lips together. Jack’s fingers tighten painfully on his side and he returns the kiss the same way he always does, rough and possessive, licking into Ed’s mouth without any preamble. Usually Ed fucking hates it, wishes Jack could wait thirty seconds before shoving his tongue down Ed’s throat. Right now, he loves it. Wants it harder. Deeper. Wants Jack to take whatever he wants.

Summary
They’re still not speaking. The quiet makes it all feel a little unreal, bodies and hearts spellbound under the starlight. It sends a bubbling thrill through Stede’s body, down to his fingertips where he cards through Ed’s hair as he kisses along his stomach. Stede tries to quiet his breathing so he can hear every soft sound Ed’s lips make against his skin.
____________________________Stede wakes up in the middle of the night, naked and tangled with Ed. When they pick up where they left off, they don't speak. They don't need to.

Stede Bonnet was supposed to be gone from his life. He was supposed to disappear for good. He was supposed to fade back into his beige-colored life and never darken Blackbeard’s again.
Stede Bonnet was certainly not supposed to fake his own death and return to the sea. He was not supposed to tail Ed’s ship for 3 months. And he was not supposed to get his wife and children kidnapped.
Ed was not supposed to go and rescue them himself.
___________________________Stede's family gets kidnapped by a notoriously cruel pirate captain before he manages to chase Ed down and make things right. Fortunately, they both arrive to rescue his family on the same day.

Summary
Ed is realizing rapidly that he likes the man. He’s quiet but Ed can get him to talk. Sometimes he’s funny in a mean way that always surprises a laugh out of Ed. He knows his place. He doesn’t take any shit.
It helps that he’s handsome and sometimes Ed swears he can feel Izzy’s voice in his spine.
______________________________Their first year together, Ed really thought he had found a friend in Izzy Hands. Sometimes he thought it could be more than that. But it doesn't last.

Stede reached out a cautious, uncertain hand to sweep a curl away from his restful features.
What if after the arcade when Stede stays at Ed's apartment, Ed actually woke up when Stede brushed the hair from his face?
“Sorry, I was just… I didn’t mean to wake you… sorry.”
“Don’t be.”
Later, when Ed is lying awake replaying this moment over and over again in his head, he will blame the rum and the moonlight and that safe feeling of sleep warmth. But in that moment, looking at Stede’s scared eyes, it feels completely right and natural to comfort him by pressing a kiss to his palm. He lets his eyes close, cherishes the way that Stede’s fingers gently brush against his cheek before he pulls away.

“Give it a rest, Stede. I tried to kill your friends. You want to get into bed with that? I knew you were a fucking lunatic, but that’s just suicidal, mate. It’s fucking over.”“But I am going to do everything in my power to get you and your crew through this.”

“After everything we’ve been through, you thought I didn’t want you?” Ed asks. He looks so hurt, it makes Stede’s heart ache, “You thought I’d, what, fuck off because we haven’t fucked yet?”
Stede shakes his head. He should have told him this long ago so he could realize how silly it sounds. He needed Ed to simplify it for him. He holds Ed’s face gently, “No… I didn’t really… I was just scared and being foolish. I’m sorry.”
Ed closes his eyes, leaning into Stede's palm and shaking his head, “No. No, I’m sorry… I just thought we were taking things slow and… and I liked it.”
