    And really, on a normal day, he would object. He really would. He would shake his head, or bat her hands away, insisting that he’s so close he can taste it (although he’s really not) and spend hours more staring blankly at the computer screen.

    But tonight, he’s tired.

    Tonight, after a long day at the station, he wants to curl up against her under a blanket and be unconscious for a dozen or so hours. Maybe days. Let her press kisses into the nape of his neck and play with his hair and tell him that he’s doing such a good job, even if it’s a lie.
