Summary
The Soldier does not know who he is. All he is allotted in his memory are flashes of a man made of sunshine, of stars. Bucky Barnes is a name so foreign to him, as much of a ghost to him as the Soldier is to everyone else. Thrown into his arms, the Soldier isn't under his own control. He never has been, but this is different. Something is very, very wrong.
All Steve knows is that he has his best friend back, and he won't let anyone take him away again. Not even the Soldier he claims to be.

This story is a love letter between Bucky and his sister Rebecca, the world, and eventually his childhood best friend, Steve Rogers, the boy he once loved. But ultimately, it is the love letter Bucky writes to himself, as he reclaims who he once was, discovers who he is now, builds a new life for himself and realizes he might, just might, be as strong, as beautiful, as precious as a pearl.
