“I don’t believe you for a second,” the villager said with a scoff. “Reviving the dead? You, a god? That’s the most preposterous thing I’ve heard in all my years.”
“Oh? You don’t believe me?” Dream smiled. “That’s okay, I’m more than willing to give you all a demonstration. Tommy,” he called, gesturing to the blond.
Tommy knew exactly what was going to happen, and he knew that there was no point in resisting, for it’d be over quicker if he gave up and went along with it (and if he struggled he’d really just be making a fool of himself). So he walked over to Dream, quietly, obediently, and stood facing the crowd. At least his death would be quick this time, he thought, as he shut his eyes and felt the cool of metal against his neck. One slash, and the world went dark.
Or: Tommy didn’t originally plan to hit the water when he jumped off the tower in Logsted, so he hit the ground instead. Dream decides that’s as good a time as any to test out the revival book, and upon succeeding, decides he’s a god and it’s high time he gained some followers.

Whisper blinked, dumbfounded. “Nix what—”
“Tommy! Tommy, can you hear me?” She scooped up the body and Whisper finally got a decent look at him.
He was young, too young to be passed out alone in a rainy alley. His blonde hair was darkened by water and streaks that must have been blood if his batter face was anything to go by. His skin was pale and his body trembled slightly, even in unconsciousness.
Whisper moved side by side with his partner, pulling out first aid supplies and searching for major injuries. “You know this kid?” he asked.

Summary
Tommy hadn't had the easiest start to life.
At first, it was great. He lived alongside his older brothers Wilbur and Techno, both of whom he idolised. Wilbur had always had a knack for music, which was what inspired Tommy to learn the piano. They would sit for hours, Wilbur strumming away at his guitar, cursing every time he hit a wrong note, and Tommy would sit idly, enjoying the music without a care in the world. And then there was Techno. Big, brave Techno, who always had his hands bloody. Yet underneath everything, he was the biggest softie Tommy had ever met.
But happiness is always temporary, at least in Tommy's case. For at just fifteen years old, Tommy is thrown out of his house, unwanted and renowned for being intolerable. His family no longer care about him. He is alone.
Or, Tommy is thrown out of his house when his family realise that he no longer serves a purpose to the family. But when his two older brothers realise the mistake they have made, they do everything in their power to reverse their errors and bring home their little brother.
