Do you have a name? Hah, that’s a bit silly of me, you can’t talk. Maybe I can teach you, though!” His eyes light up as the idea strikes him. “If I teach you how to read, maybe we can talk! I mean. If you’d want to?” At that, Lance slowly turns around. The merboy is hovering in the water a little above him. He stays this time. Lance’s hands are shaking a little. “Would you want to talk to me?”
When Lance's mom gets a job at the zoo, Lance's family moves to live right next to it. Lance is beyond excited, because this zoo is the home of an actual, living mermaid. He will stop at nothing to become bff's with him.
