Mel had no idea what was playing on the TV, it could be a black screen for all that she cared- she was too busy watching Frank.
She knew he was handsome. There's a reason Garcia called him ER Ken. He was, objectively, very attractive.
That just had never been the forefront of their relationship.
So, as Mel examined the perfect angles of his face, she was downed by the scary realization that she felt attracted to her best friend.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice deep and rumbly.

Well that was embarrassing.
He could easily see Mel doing her best to hide the flickering disappointment, but kindly offering some words of support. In fact he struggled to jump out of direct view as the couple separated on the bed. From his tight view he could see Mel facing the window. Fully naked, staring in his general direction.

It’s fucking crazy of her. She stands there with hay stuck to the knees of her scrub pants, her mouth drawn into a thin line, and her eyes two icy shards of fury in her face. She looks like an avenging angel, all beautiful, righteous anger, backlit by the sun streaming through the square window. If it were anyone else, Frank is pretty sure Travis would have pulled the trigger.
But Mel has always bent the rules of the universe, so Travis just nods meekly and tucks his gun into the waistband of his jeans.
