To be honest, this “Dragon” was not what she had been expecting. On the other hand, she hadn't been sure what to expect exactly. She had pictured a large, elegant, white and blue dragon that sailed through the skies and made friends with the clouds—a most powerful being that would have difficulties fitting inside a building, even one as large as Palais Mermonia. Even if that were not true and was just her fantastical wishful thinking (because, really, who wouldn't want to meet and befriend a dragon?), she had anticipated...
Well, she hadn't anticipated him taking out the guards and scaring the Palais Mermonia attendant so terribly she fled, seeking Lady Furina, her beloved Archon, from the Opera Epiclese as fast as possible.

Furina welcomes the Hydro Dragon Sovereign into Palais Mermonia, but the opera won't show for a week. In the meantime, his hair is messy, so she brushes it and tries to get to know him more... for whatever reason...

Summary
Wriothesley shoves his hands into his pockets and watches his own feet for a moment. "I've… been sleeping, yes."
Neuvillette reaches out and catches Wriothesley by the elbow, and they both pause mid-step. Wriothesley turns in his grip, realizing belatedly that the move positions him within inches of Neuvillette's face. Wriothesley meets his gaze for only a moment - Neuvillette is staring at him with such intensity that he can't help but avert his eyes.
"You must think me an exceedingly poor judge," Neuvillette says lowly, "if you think I cannot tell you are lying."
Wriothesley can't sleep - like, at all. Except, of course, when he's around Neuvillette. Then he can hardly stay awake.
Written as a character study of Wriothesley and a dive into the trauma he faced as a child, and what might happen if an unwelcome face from his murky past surfaced in the Fortress of Meropide, right under Wriothesley's nose.
Angst, Wriothesley crying, and Neuvillette trying desperately to help. Maybe a little bit slow burn.

And he’d stared at the tickets, two of them, and then frowned up at her. “…shall I take you, then?”
Her expression made it seem as though he’d grown another head entirely, and this one no smarter than the first. “Why would I want to see it again?” she asked. “I made it! I’ve seen it a thousand times and more! I told you to take a friend!”
Neuvillette decides to watch The Two Musketeers. And to take the director's suggestion that he has a...friend...accompany him.

Between downing a wrong drink too many and waking up on the Chief Justice's couch at three in the morning - with the man still working, no less - Wriothesley could have had a less eventful night. Supposedly someone tried to drug him. Supposedly that person was competitively incompetent and mistook industrial-grade sleeping pills for whatever he was meant to have been subjected to. Either way, he'll remember to laugh at them when they inevitably ended up in jail. But for the time being, the Chief Justice's couch was comfortable and it was too late at night for any hope of a reasonable conversation.
All in all, the Duke of Meropide considered his latest visit to the Court of Fontaine to be a fruitful one.

It was probably the gentlest rejection Wriothesley had ever gotten. He'd assumed whatever it was between them ended with a one night stand, until Neuvillette had shown up the next week with his favorite tea. Most of his ‘relationships’ boiled down to casual sex so it wasn't as if he was a stranger to it. He was happy to be near Neuvillette in any way the man would allow.
