    “Damn you, Harrington.” Eddie shakes his head, looking back at the box again.

    He can see Robin giving him a curios look, but Eddie avoids looking at her. He didn’t want to answer questions about his damn crush on Steve freaking Harrington and how he keeps getting more perfect by the minute. Eddie needs him to stop, like literally right now.

    “Oh my god,” Dustin screams, making Eddie look at him from across the room. Eddie finds him staring at someone, so he follows his line of sight and finds one Steve Harrington, yeah, that one, the one he just asked a second ago to stop being perfect? Yeah, that guy is standing at the bottom of the stairs with a crumpled box in his hands and is wearing glasses.

    Steve Harrington just exceeded perfect.

    There comes a point even when superheroes find themselves old enough to retire. For Bucky Barnes, that will never really come given that he's a hundred and four and spry as a 20-year-old, but for Sam Wilson, that age is a ripe 49.

    Partners in the field, they become partners in retirement. Bucky puts his accumulated bank account to good use and purchases the two of them a nice beach house in Prismo Beach, California, in a spread-out neighborhood along a private beach.

    Their closest neighbor is Steve Rogers, a young but well-known artist and environmental activist. He's got the plumpest peach of an ass either Sam or Bucky has ever seen. They'd like to make a sandwich out of him, and with their determination, they absolutely will.

    Steve Harrington is the golden child, and the king of Hawkins High school. Eddie Munson is the complete and utter opposite, moving to Indiana just before his junior year. Tommy bets Steve to befriend the new kid, and Steve finds himself agreeing to operation Ruin the Life of Eddie Munson. Eddie is oblivious to the arrangement, and finds his first ever genuine friend, but who's to say that it'll stay that way? And what happens, when Steve realizes that he's met his first genuine friend, too?

    No Upside Down shenanigans until Chapter Eleven for this fic, and since Vol. 2 seemed to never drop and somehow mysteriously, Vecna was defeated and everyone lived happily ever after, we can make up our own stories! Nah, but this is canon divergent. Really just snatched up the Duffer's characters and said "Make them kiss.”
