Summary
He wanted to say that it wasn't something flatmates should have to be sorry for, but it would just call attention to the codependent nature of their deepening relationship, and that seemed better left unobserved until John had a better handle on what it was.
As the months passed, John had a creeping, slightly nauseating realisation that it was love, and that scared him far more than being locked in a lab while on psychotropic drugs ever would.
Because John knew that it was entirely his own fault for letting his fate get entwined with this man. That for all his complaining about Sherlock drugging John's tea and spoiling his relationships, he couldn't pretend he hadn't chosen all of this. Nimbly stepped around all of the clearly marked red flags and settled into 221B like a cat cuddling up next to an untamed pitbull.

Summary
Sherlock isn't a modest man, and John was an army doctor. Nudity doesn't faze them. As a result, they find themselves naked in each other's presense more than John or most of London would deem reasonable for two friends.
Five Times Sherlock and John are naked, and one time they sleep that way.

Summary
Papered from floor to ceiling, with hardly a spot of paint showing through, the wall was littered with them. Pictures. Some in colour, some photocopies, a few simple charcoal drawings, graphite sketches, some sloppy, some exceptionally meticulous. Details of John’s face that even he didn’t have a complete grasp of. There was sheet music as well, some sections crossed through, others with small notes in the margins ('his favourite melody'... 'only play during nightmares'), one without any words but one. John. Some of the photos were grainy, taken from CCTV cameras, others clearly from a distance but with startling clarity, captured by what must have been a high-powered lens.
"I thought of you... often, John."

Summary
“I do hope you know that I am... appreciative of your patience, regarding this issue. A lesser man would have left having intimate knowledge of my... past and present demons.”
John looked up at him with all the deep seated sadness of a man who'd watched everyone he'd ever loved struggle with something he could only stand at the periphery of. “A saner man, perhaps,” John said, managing to twist his lips into a smirk. “Possibly a more squeamish man, but to be fair, if the kitchen table autopsies didn't scare me away, it was rather a sure bet that I could take a few 3 AM drugs busts.”

Summary
It was mostly an accepted fact that these days, John and Sherlock were living in each other's pockets; raising a child and stumbling into a romantic relationship after years of near-coodependency would do that to anyone. However, it was John's humble opinion that there was a thin line between close and overbearing, so surely Sherlock wanted to keep the last bits of peace and privacy he had all to himself, right?

Summary
These are vignettes connected into the slow progression of John and Sherlock's romantic relationship in the post-canon as they raise a child, discuss retirement, and learn that a) communication is good, b) they deserve to have things that make them happy, and c) they're usually on the same page when it comes to all the important things anyway.
Fluffy, soft, tender feelings all around.

Summary
It is not uncommon for John to go to bed while Sherlock is out and about, running rampant. He’s used to it by now. What he is not used to is waking up to the same empty flat. Sherlock’s bed is undisturbed; identical to how it had been left when John checked last night, on the off chance that Sherlock had slipped in unannounced. John knows that there is something wrong.
Lestrade thinks John is being overly cautious, but agrees to keep an ear out.
It’s almost ten in the morning when John gets a call back.
Leaving well enough alone isn't a phrase in Sherlock Holmes's repertoire.
