Summary
After his parents are targeted for his powers, Shigeo and Ritsu’s rescue mission goes horribly wrong, and their lives are torn apart. Ritsu is captured and falsely imprisoned, and Shigeo is lead down a dark path by the leader of a volatile political and spiritual movement.
It takes nearly six years for them to find each other again. Amidst growing unrest in Seasoning City, they each struggle to adjust to the people they find in each other's place, especially when they end up on opposing sides of the conflict.

The boy looked at him for a second, before his eyes drifted down again. He stared at his palms before deciding he only needed one hand, then took a moment to count his fingers. He silently mouthed the numbers before holding up three fingers to Reigen.
