Summary
Five more minutes, Ilya told himself, fighting the slow, sleepy blinks and the dangerous urge that wanted nothing more than to pull the duvet over the two of them. Five more minutes and then I will go. Hollander is asleep, he can’t bitch about any risks.
Ilya woke up fifteen minutes later, warm and content. He ignored the feeling as he slid out the bed, his chest tightening at the way Shane grabbed the pillow he was sleeping on and tugged it closer. He quickly got dressed, letting his eyes linger on Shane for a few more seconds before quickly slipping out the room.
.
Or, in which it takes a therapy session for Ilya to realise that Shane Hollander is his favourite weighted blanket.

Summary
“You’re not Lily,” he said, his voice accusing and his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“No, I am not,” she agreed. “Lily sent me here to take you to her place.”
Shane looked dubious. “You know Lily?”
“Yes,” Svetlana nodded. “The real Lily.”
Shane huffed a little. “Then what’s Lily’s favourite colour?”
Svetlana raised her brows. “Do you even know Lily’s favourite colour?”
Shane blinked. “No, why do you ask?”
Svetlana stared at him for a few moments, her mind whirling with the set of circumstances that led her to standing in a hospital room on a Thursday morning with one of the best players in the league on more drugs than seemed necessary.
.
Or, in which the game happens in Boston and Ilya comes up with a very bad, very last minute plan to play Shane's nurse (with the help of Svetlana and identity theft).

Summary
Shane’s heart drops into his stomach. “Ilya,” he breathes. His vision goes blurry, throat tight. He tries to swallow it down and focus, shove his swirling thoughts into a neat little box, but it’s impossible. He feels—he might throw up, actually. “Are you seriously telling me you tried to fucking kill yourself?”
“Yes,” Ilya agrees blandly, “It did not work.”
Ilya calls Shane from the hospital. Shane handles it very normally.

Summary
He only realizes he’s doing it when it’s too late to stop.
He’s standing in the drink aisle of the grocery store, checking the expiration dates on the cans of Coke, mentally cross-checking them with Boston’s away game schedule, and the reality hits him like someone shook one of those cans and popped it open. A snap. A fizz. A mess.
Shane is making space for Ilya.
