The silence on Kenma’s end lasts a bit too long. “No. I don’t make birthday wishes. I didn’t – I’ve never thought anything like that.”
Tetsurou's brain stalls on why Kenma is being weird. He sounds…nervous? Distracted? All Tetsurou did was ask if Kenma wanted Tetsurou inside him – Oh.

Tetsurou shrugs. “I don’t know. She invited you to the wedding. I want you to come. It just seemed easy.”
“Dating me seems easy?”
“Pretend dating.”

It seems appropriate, given the messy mop of ink black hair that sits on his head and falls into his eyes. His body is tall and lean and strong. His face is handsome and charming and just wicked enough to be promising.

“Uh, yeah, I guess.” He holds the tie closer to his eye to inspect it. “35, 000-yen?”
“It’s Hermes! And silk! 35, 000 is a conservative estimate.” She finishes pulling their take-out containers from the plastic bag she carried them in. “If you didn’t buy it, who gave it to you?”
“Kenma.”
She snorts into the can of beer she’s just opened. “I can’t believe Kenma is your sugar daddy.”

Kuroo’s hand reaches under the table to rest on Kenma’s thigh. It distracts Kenma completely. Kenma’s mind glazes over, the voices of Kuroo and Bokuto mixing hazily into the background of his thoughts. Kuroo’s thumb moves along Kenma’s leg, like he’s not even aware of the effect he has on Kenma. Kenma tsks to himself. He probably isn’t. To his Kenma, this isn't anything special. His Kenma always gets Kuroo’s touch and attention. Is it normal to be jealous of himself?
Kenma has no idea how long he has here, how long he’ll get to bask in the warmth of Kuroo’s affection. He wants to take as much as he can, store it for when he’s back in his world. Let it keep him company there when he’s alone and cold and tired. He reaches down and curls his fingers around Kuroo’s hand. I want to keep him.

Kenma nods. “It felt like it was something I should tell you. I don’t think I’ve ever not told you something, so I thought I should tell you.” He looks up at Tetsurou now. Tetsurou has never realised how small Kenma is. Which is a silly thing, considering how much of his life has been spent in a sport focusing on height. But still, Kenma is small. “Was that okay – should I not have told you?”
