Jack frowned. “Oh yeah? I don’t remember hearin’ anything about a new teacher.”
“That’s because you’re always so focused on the ranch you’re barely paying attention to anything else,” Marisol pointed out, and... she might be right. “To your credit, you’re paying attention to Riley which is important. But if you want to meet Sam’s brother, he’s over there.”
Jack followed the direction of Marisol’s pointing finger and tripped over his own feet, nearly plowing into the buffet table. As it turned out Sam looked a lot like her brother—blond hair, blue eyes, fair complexion—but the burst of attraction Jack felt in his gut was nothing like how he reacted to Sam. He was... beautiful, there was no other word for it, with a sharp jaw and a lean build, in the middle of chuckling at something one of his colleagues was saying.

Summary
Steve’s leather jacket.
It’s been something of a staple in their relationship, the jacket. The first time Bucky saw Steve without it, the first time Steve told Bucky to put it on when the cold weather came, the first time Bucky wore it with no reason other than comfort. It’s special. Bucky has become well acquainted with it, the musky smell of the leather, the size, the feel of the inside and the sound of the zipper. It’s become something of a habit for Steve to hand it to Bucky throughout the day and just as natural a reaction for Bucky to reach for it and find warmth in it.
He loves it, loves the soft lining of the torso, the dark color of the leather always a contrast to his skin. He steals it from Steve at least once daily, and Steve never complains.
But, even with how familiar they are with the leather jacket, they've never done this.

Everything was like he wanted it. It was like a gentle symphony of everyday life, of love and stability, which he had undoubtedly missed when he was a kid. Jack saw him for the first time by total accident. At first glance the ears had looked like a coyote in the low sun and he had almost grabbed his gun, ready to scare the canine, so it wouldn’t get to his chickens - however, a second later, the coyote got on its hind legs and…
It had hands. Coyotes didn’t have hands the last time Jack checked.That was when Jack had realised that it wasn’t a coyote close to the house, but a freaking hybrid.
A canine hybrid who, for a lack of a better word, looked like a complete mess. Hair sticking everywhere, clothes torn, feet bare, face dirty with a patchy looking beard.
Despite the hybrid's trespassing and rummaging around on his property, Jack felt nothing but pity. Why was it out there? If he spotted correctly, there was no collar around its neck and from the state of it, it looked like it hadn’t had a bath for a good while.Bookmarked by Blue_gambit91
