Summary
Therese is a graduate literature student about to begin her last semester seminar, in which she will finally get to meet and work with Carol Ross, the secretive author who she's idolized for years. Two nights before her last-first day of class, she takes home a mysterious blonde who manages to drive her wild without even telling her her name. When class begins, Therese finds herself looking into the same icy eyes that had stared up at her from between her thighs just a few nights ago.
A.k.a, Therese accidentally has sex with her idol and then has to figure out how to sit through class with her.

Summary
The events from the book told in the tone of the film. Like most films adapted from novels, Carol (2015) left out a lot of plot and scenes from Highsmith's "The Price of Salt." This work is a collection of those original moments from the book rewritten as if they had all made it in the film. Deviates slightly from both the book and the screenplay to incorporate my thoughts in recreating these moments and the main plot. Hope you enjoy!

“I understand, I don’t really want to go either. I mean, I am going to Paris but I’d rather just get out of here.” Therese rambled, surprised at her honesty.
The older woman lifted her eyebrows.
“And what’s stopping you from that?”Therese froze. If she really thought about it, nothing was holding her back. Richard wasn’t here at the moment. She could easily disappear. Richard could look for her. She could say she went on board to look for him. She could say she went after him to say goodbye to his parents. It could just be a silly accident. Her right hand gripped her suitcase.
As if the woman could sense the gears turning inside of Therese’s brain she said in a low voice:
