He could feel the way his blush rose over his face, which was already flushed with alcohol. Serizawa’s face wasn’t faring much better in that moment.
“Yeah, I’d like that.” His eyes had been wide, staring at Reigen like he hung the moon, which at that moment he very well may have.

Reigen insists he doesn't need coddling or being doted upon, he is a grown, independent man capable of taking care of himself. Serizawa would politely nod and agree, but if you asked him when Reigen isn't around, he'd say that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with wanting to be coddled.
Or: a few times in their relationship where Serizawa suprised Reigen with a gesture (that turned out more meaningful than Serizawa expected), and one time Reigen finally asked for what he wanted.

Maybe it was the tightness of Reigen's collar, blocking his glands well enough that his scent hadn't infected the air around the office earlier, or else Serizawa would definitely have noticed. There was also Reigen's terrifyingly incredible talent to pretend that everything's just fine, that had him convinced he didn't really need to worry.
He should've prodded more, he knows Reigen's heats are always like this; overwhelming and painful if he's not taken care of well enough. He knows.
Yet Serizawa failed to provide him the care he deserves.

Turns out, even ghosts have their breaking point. And apparently the potential of having to listen to not one, but TWO grown men endlessly pine about each other is the straw the breaks the ghost's back.
The obvious solution? Turn Reigen into a cat.

Reigen lifted the ankle into his lap and waved him off, staring towards the office door. “It wasn’t a work thing, my mom asked for my help as a handyman. No spirits involved, as far as I know.”
OR: Reigen gets hurt, then gets hurt again, prompting Serizawa to take care of him for the day. Somewhere along the line, he realizes they've been in love with each other for a long time, and resolves to do something about it.

All that he knew was that every time Serizawa smiled at him, there was a tenderness in his gaze that left Reigen breathless and wanting more.
