Summary
A drifter for as long as she can remember, Vi has built a life for herself as a merchant travelling from town to town. When her trading caravan is raided and burned, her community scattered in the wind, she is forced to start over with barely more than the clothes on her back. In a rare stroke of luck, a blacksmith on the edge of the next town could use a hand at the forge and around the farm. Sevika takes Vi on as an apprentice and the pair forge an unlikely friendship, tempered with secrets and old scars, and a fair bit of yearning.

Summary
Rounding the corner, she finds their bedroom in its usual state of disarray: Vi’s uniform hangs off the side of their hamper, her work boots thrown into the corner and her wraps discarded haphazardly on the floor beside their dresser.
What she doesn’t expect to see is Vi, clad in nothing but a white tank top and her favorite flannel sweatpants, squinting at herself in the full-length mirror beside the door. Vi doesn’t see her, too busy fiddling with the fit of the waistband, her scarred lips twisted into a frown that’s dangerously on the verge of becoming a scowl. Upon first glance, the reason why isn’t immediately clear, but Caitlyn can hazard a guess.
Vi thinks 'going soft' is a bad thing. Caitlyn disagrees. They talk about it.
