When Mandy yawned, Robert turned his head slightly, watching her out of the corner of his eye, exhaustion lingering in his expression. Despite the painful effort it took to speak with the definitely broken ribs, he asked, “Could I walk you home?”
Mandy looked Robert up and down, and then actually laughed at that, her eyes crinkling up around the edges, blue eyes reflecting the sunlight. Robert felt his heart tighten, although it wasn’t out of shame or embarrassment. She wasn’t laughing at him.
“How about I walk you home?” Mandy offered instead, rolling her shoulders back in a half shrug. Her lips were still pulled into a soft smile. “I think you need it more than I do.”

Mandy gives him a look — the one she’s gradually perfected for those moments where Robert says something deeply alarming or depressing about his past and doesn’t quite seem to realize it — and he smiles apologetically and continues, “Yeah, this’ll be fun, I think. Just… might be a little glued to your side at first.”
SDN's sponsoring a high-profile New Year's Eve gala, and both Mecha Man and Blonde Blazer are expected to attend. Turns out Robert's not great with crowds — or fireworks.

Summary
In the months following the Red Ring’s downfall, the Z-Team continues to face everything from the mundane to the downright surreal under Robert’s leadership. Mandy, stripped of her powers, struggles to navigate life as a normie. Together, she and Robert search for Visi, who vanished after murdering Shroud. All the while, a new danger quietly rises in the shadows.
But Courtney is dying, and the only way to save her could also return Mandy’s lost powers. Drawn together by necessity, the heroes find their bonds tested in ways none of them expected. As danger closes in, unresolved feelings simmer beneath the surface, but what choices will they make, and are they bound by more than fate alone?
This is a long slow story with several moving parts. Expect heavy character development.
Starting from a game which ended Villain Courtney/Romanced Mandy/Cut and readmitted Sonar
• Courtney starts a messy redemption arch from Chapter 11
• Bershy, who's song 'Radio' was playing during the housewarming scene, cameos in Chapter 12
• Smut chapters (such as they are) have titles ending in '!!'

Blonde Blazer was always Mandy amplified, brighter, bolder, impossible to overlook, but with Chase using the amulet to survive, she’s suddenly living as “just” herself again, unsure who people will see without the glow. After falling out of love with Phenomaman, she wants something real, something that doesn’t vanish when the cape comes off. Robert spent so many years isolated, fighting alone, convinced he didn’t get to have anything more. Their first kiss was a spark, now they’re trying to build something steady, something honest. Just two people learning each other, and themselves, without the armor.
I love the concept of using audience participation to decide what happens next, kinda like one of those choose your own adventure books, so that inspired this

Every SDN branch has an inoffensively corporate “holiday” party. The office was decorated with vaguely but not explicitly Christmas decorations, everyone but the emergency shift got to take a half day on Christmas eve, and the entire office was invited to a get-together in the conference room.
The Z-Team, naturally, put their own spin on things.

A few months after Shroud's downfall, the SDN office is rebuilt. And with Halloween coming up, what better way to celebrate than with a costume party? Even though everyone normally wears costumes to work anyway?
With his suit in need of repairs and upgrades, Robert returns to his dispatching desk. Mandy wants to share her secrets with him, but worries how he'll react so early in their relationship. Flambae rewrites another '90s pop song and probably needs a new car insurance policy. Malevola somehow turns green. Sonar's hopes of getting paid to goof off are quickly dashed. Coupe tries to fit in again after being let go and brought back. Phenomaman is... well, Phenomaman. And Invisigal might not actually be as over it as she thought she was.
Meanwhile the Red Ring, still licking their wounds after their defeat, would like to plot... something. If only they could just get their act together.
