Summary
“Does your family know I’m coming and not Kisame?” Itachi tugged the zipper on his jacket mindlessly and moved it up and down. This time he was the one looking away as Kakuzu turned to give him a look.
“Yeah, they’re excited to meet you. Kisame always whips up a storm of praise for you and Hidan.” Itachi let out a nervous laugh at that “Ah jeez, I hope I can live up to it. Kisame can make almost anything sound amazing.”
Kakuzu and Itachi take a train to visit Kakuzu’s family for the memorial day weekend. Kakuzu wants to study for upcoming finals along the way but Itachi can’t relax on the way there.

Summary
I am in progress of making this series as a sort of warm up for another Akatsuki centric series I have in mind. It will be a series of one-shots and multi-chapters rewriting the ends of most Akatsuki members. This is just one disgruntled writer refusing the endings of each Akatsuki member and revamping them to my personal indulgence. Some of these changes will be better and some worse depending on the character.

Tetta blinks, meets his eyes, a little reluctantly. “You were always more than that” he murmurs.
