This dissonance paralysed him, so he did neither. He stared blankly at Revenge, eventually falling asleep to the harrowing lullaby that was another’s rueful lament. Despite knowing that he was asleep, he could still make out the sounds of Gregor’s hushed weeping ringing in his ears– it was surrounding him, manifesting into physical beings that rushed toward him until he was smothered, dogpiled by it, asphyxiating him until he felt like his lungs would implode until suddenly he woke up, once more.

He’d learned what was most important was keeping Quixote there with him, lest she run off and attack anyone she deemed a villain.

Heathcliff gets a new identity and struggles with the thoughts and feelings he finds come with it. This other version of him seems to be less angry, and strangely focused on Gregor. He wants to keep him safe and spend as much time near the other man as possible. Is he happier this way? Is Gregor alright with this?
At the end of the mission he steps away from the mirror and those feelings and that possibility slips away.
