It’s a test. It has to be a test. No one actually talks like this in real life - not in Eddie’s (admittedly limited) experience with hot middle aged men - so this must be Mr. Harrington’s way of testing whether Eddie’s too comfortable, whether he’s over-familiar and under-respectful.
Eddie can only chuckle weakly, eyes darting from point to point so as to avoid being caught staring at one place for too long.
