Summary
Chris agreed to convince Lucy to go to Undercover School. Honestly, it would be a good move for her career. It also had the added bonus of putting some distance between his girlfriend and Tim Bradford. Chris had planned it all. He called Lucy every night that she was away. He made sure to mention his injuries and recovery just enough that he knew her guilt at being away was growing.
The plan was simple. When Lucy returned home, she would be so overcome with her guilt and fall right in to her mother hen mode. Lucy would be so busy taking care of him and reconnecting that she wouldn't even have time to think of anyone else. Lucy would be his and they would move in together and get engaged and everything would turn out as it should.
Then she went and broke the rules:
"I need you to hand me your playbook," she said so nonchalantly.
"You're breaking up with me?"
