Summary
Stede’s been picking up on it for a while, Ed’s hesitance to share when he’s upset, or worried, or feeling hurt. They’ve managed to talk a few things out by now, namely that they’d give pirating a break, that they wanted to do it together.
That had been huge, actually. Still – he can’t help but feel that Ed’s walking on eggshells, as though the wrong words might spook Stede into fleeing.
Deep down Stede knows he won’t, neither of them will, but yeah – he knows the feeling. They’ve still got a lot of talking to do.
Just needs a little elbow grease.
“I love you,” he whispers, sliding even closer, lightly carding his fingers through Ed’s hair.
The forced smile relaxes into a real one, warm and pleased. “Love you.”

Ed and Stede have some work to do on the inn…among other things. They’re up for the challenge.

Summary
In the spring of 1897, Stede Bonnet hired a rag-tag crew to renovate his family’s long-abandoned estate in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Among this crew was groundskeeper Edward Teach. Eager to stay updated on the project, Stede began a regular correspondence with Ed.
Years later, upon the discovery of their correspondence carefully tucked away in a clothes-stuffed closet of the manor, historians concluded that they were not, in fact, just very good friends.

Summary
It’s summer of 1928 in northern England. Edward Teach is a thief of some renown and skill, making a good living with his friend Izzy and their gang. But things go awry when his gang joins forces with Calico Jack and Ed is forced into hiding in a castle owned by Stede Bonnet. Will Stede discover he is harboring a criminal?
