It was very uncommon to hear shouts coming from the Quartermaster’s domain. Explosions, gunshots, loud bangs, and the occasional thud resulting from someone coming in contact with either the floor or a wall, but never angry yells accompanied by snarled threats.
James Bond does what James Bond does best and sticks his nose in his Quartermaster's business.

Sometimes it was an explosive one accidentally getting mixed in with a box of the product it was moulded after and the idiot who lost it there remembered only after the Quartermaster almost beheaded him when he was presented with the harmless original. Other times it was because someone from the government got it in their heads that MI6 was a black hole when it came to money so everyone in management dragged them around to remind them why they had to suck money up faster and better than the finest blotting paper.

The agent was tech-savvy – very much so; maybe in another universe, Quincy spent his days safely tucked behind a computer screen – so he loved to spend a lot of time in James’ branch, touching everything that he wasn’t supposed to touch and following James around like he was some kind of a cat that on a mission to knock everything down.

The door closed behind the two guards but since their innate conversation could still be clearly heard, James ignored how much his leg and arm muscles hurt and remained in his hiding spot. It was a good thing that more often than not, the goons never bothered to tilt their heads back and actually look up but if he made the slightest noise now after they were done checking the small closet, he’d give himself away.

MI6 is -shockingly - more competent, R&D department has a building all to itself, R insists that she's the new Q despite her being perceived by James as a moody teenager and nothing else, James loses his designated number, and Q is a double oh agent who hates his guts.

All of the friendships Q formed paled in comparison to what he had with James and it was known to all the agencies that if you upset one, you upset the other. While no one was sure quite yet which was worse – angry boffin that might as well be magic with all he could do, or angry spy with a licence to kill who knew how to make you suffer without actually touching or ending your life – they all agreed that it was best to let that be a mystery for all eternity.
