The story-telling is good, body swap, and real name giving. the pace is well organized, so reader wont lose interest halfway. Worth studying. The intimacy is depicted well too, glaring, wearing wrong clothes, cuddling and so on.

"It wasn’t something they’d ever talked about, this thing between them. Sorey couldn’t say how long it had been there, flitting on the edges of every conversation, every casual touch. He’d wondered about bringing it up, a few times. He’d entertained fantasies of whispers and fond words and closeness, but in the end, he restrained himself. Somehow, bringing this thing into the spotlight would spoil it, so he let it hang, living in the space between their bodies and the moments when their eyes caught."

Only read the first two chapters but it is quite canon, like extended scenes of the game. The nebulous affection between them is well depicted. Writing of actions is worth to study.

"The classical music that had accompanied him throughout the night had been suddenly replaced by a warm, deep voice coming from his speakers. He heard nothing except its cadence at first; just the sound of it made Mikleo’s fists unclench, the half moons his nails had left in his palms clear on his pale skin. But then he heard the actual words, pure and sweet like a friend’s encouragement, and Mikleo stopped breathing for a second as he listened."
In which Mikleo is a writer struggling against writer's block, and Sorey speaks words of encouragement to whoever might need them from his radio station.

Intriguing story and some mild angst in the latter half. But fluff in the end. The slow burn makes you watch them getting closer and closer and pulls your heartstring tightly. Characters are in character and lively. Also full of good writing skills. Other works is worth reading.

Growing up is hard. Having a best friend that lives hundreds of miles away only makes it harder, but Sorey and Mikleo manage.

Very good Vanven, serious writing I guess? Not common fanfic style. Like a classic Japanese anime, kind of exciting, kind of romantic. Nebulous love and struggle are always make high school memorable.
