    Cass's best friend is gone. There's no one to help her figure out what real girls are supposed to act like, no more laughter to drown out the whispers in her head that tell her she'll never be anything more than a weapon.

    Dick has lost everything that mattered to him, and worse—he's crossed the one line Bruce drilled into him from childhood. He's not even sure who he's supposed to be anymore. He's not Batman's partner—hasn't been for years. He's not a Titan either. He's just... Dick Grayson, and he's starting to think that might not be enough.

    Dick released all of the air in his chest with a sigh of relief and slumped against the couch. His neck rested on the couch’s back as his head hung loosely over it. He studied the ceiling and went over Bruce’s contingency.

    1. Make sure you are in the past and check all your bases. Determine whether science or magic brought you there.

    Definitely in the past, but also in an alternate universe. Definitely a magic trick.

    2. Stay out of anyone’s way and don’t move until I find you and bring you home.

    Rescue’s not coming, and I need to move.

    3. Whatever you do, never ever mess with time.
