Summary
Alhaitham has been cursed. The curse can only be broken by a kiss from someone who truly loves him. According to Alhaitham, such a person does not exist, so he prepares for the inevitable and keeps quiet about the cure.
Kaveh can do nothing but watch as Alhaitham’s condition deteriorates. He helps to take care of him as things progress, but he still feels useless. If only there were something he could do…
“You’re so warm,” Kaveh utters. He brings his hand up to touch his cheek.
“Mm,” Alhaitham hums, leaning into the touch.
Kaveh keeps his hand where it is and gives him a sad smile. “You only get like this when you’re sick or drunk.”
“Pathetic?”
Kaveh shakes his head. “Affectionate. It’s… kind of nice, to be honest.” He laughs. “To tell you the truth, I used to try to get you drunk just to see you like this.”
If his cheeks weren’t already burning, he might blush. “Really.”
“Your attitude is easier to handle when you’re all clingy,” Kaveh admits.
"Well, I guess you get to see it one last time,” Alhaitham says.
Kaveh’s expression sobers. “…I guess so.”

Summary
Ever since she was a child, Clorinde believed that apologies were not for the sake of the one giving it, but the sake of the one receiving it. One should not apologize solely for the sake of being forgiven. Instead, one should apologize as an acknowledgment of one's own mistakes, of the hurt they have caused, and a promise to do better, to change, to strive to never do it again.
That is why she refuses to apologize for taking Callas' life. She could not change the fact that she had killed him, an innocent man, nor could she change the fact that she might someday strike down another desperate fool who, despite their own innocence, stepped into the Duelists' Ring to be judged by the sword.

"All she did, she did it for Navia. Not for Callas’s final wish. But just for Navia. Her heart died half of it the day Navia announced her final blow to Callas was the biggest betrayal to their relationship. It died little by little every time Navia miserably found out what she did in the shadows. It died some more when Navia turned around and glared despicably at Clorinde’s hiding spots behind her back.
It died completely today when Navia screamed at her face, wishing the Caspars never took her in all those years ago."

“Red? That’s odd.” Alhaitham agrees, it is odd that he likes red. “Is it because it goes well with green? They’re complementary cololurs after all.”
Maybe. Red reminds him of a lot of things; it’s a passionate colour that blazes to a final destination. It’s a colour that reminds him of perseverance and ambition. It’s a colour that burns the holder, and often engulfs him in flames of his own ideals.

He took a step into the room, and carefully watched Alhaitham’s reaction. The man simply lowered his head. He seemed so… passive for once. What the fuck? What started as confusion and uncertainty quickly spiraled into a deep set worry. Kaveh went forward, and lowered himself to kneel on the floorboard in front of Alhaitham’s feet, resting his hands on Alhaitham’s knees.
“Hey,” His voice was softer than a feather. “Are you okay?”
Alhaitham stared at him. The tears only seemed to continue flowing. He was crying, he was crying right? Then why…?
“Why do you cry so… quietly?”

Summary
Even during their fight, Alhaitham had controlled himself. Sure, he yelled and Kaveh yelled back and it was a horrible mess of hurt feelings and sharp words—but Kaveh knew that Alhaitham meant every word he said, and he meant to say every word. Kaveh had, too.
And when they’d started living together, Kaveh knew that all of Alhaitham’s barbs and quips were to bait him into arguing because Alhaitham found it amusing, every jab and word tailored carefully with great thought to exact Kaveh’s maximum anger.
The point stands—Kaveh doesn’t think he’s ever seen Alhaitham so…rattled.

Kaveh held his breath and approached the thing quietly. His right hand was behind his back, palm open, ready to summon Mehrak. His other hand carefully took the end of the blanket, and then, with one swift motion, he snatched it with all his might, making the blanket fly a few meters from the bed, and the ‘creature’ gasped.
Wait, no it wasn’t a fung–
By the archons.
A small child - no older than five - jolted on the bed, utterly shocked from Kaveh’s action.
His gray hair was a mess, partly due to Kaveh’s fault from roughly yanking the blanket that was covering his head, even the little sprout on top of his head was still bouncing from the impact. His wide, emerald eyes were full of tears. His round cheeks and nose were red from crying.
Kaveh blinked.
This little boy was easily the cutest kid he’d ever seen. Moreover, his appearance reminded him a lot of…
“Haitham?”Or, Alhaitham turned into a five year-old child right on Kaveh's birthday.
