Casey O’Connell doesn't do "adventure." She does inventory.
As the night manager of a South Boston gas station, Casey’s life consists of broken slushie machines, aggressive customers, and a crushing amount of student debt. She doesn't hike, she doesn't believe in magic, and the last time she saw a forest was on a postcard.
But when a slip in the rain sends her tumbling through the cracks of reality, she doesn't land in the ER. She lands in freezing white water, dodging black arrows and drowning alongside dwarves in barrels.
Dragged dripping wet and furious before the Elven King Thranduil (who looks like a supermodel with a god complex) Casey has no idea where she is or why everyone has pointy ears. She only knows that she is cold, terrified, and absolutely not going in a cell.
Thranduil finds her rude, messy, and baffling. She finds him arrogant and impossible.
He offers her the dungeon. She demands dinner. And just like that, the fate of the Woodland Realm gets a little more complicated.
