Summary
The Tennysons aren't strangers to difficulty. They've fought Warlords and mercenaries and just plain creeps, on off since they were 10. But when there's an accident in Azmuth's laboratory, the Tennysons find them selves in situation they never been in before: alone. They've fallen through multi-verse to an fun house mirror version of Earth, the land, history and people familiar but twisted and distorted beyond recognition. Not necessarily evil, just different and definitely not welcoming of a pair of teenagers that break the unspoken divides between the human and monsters.

Summary
When Shane collides with Cliff Marlow during the Montreal vs Boston game in April of 2017, Ilya has to get through the evening not knowing how he's doing. He eventually confides in his roommate Cliff, who subsequently invites himself onto Ilya's trip to the hospital the next morning.
“Ask,” Ilya said flatly, trying not to admit to himself that he probably knew what he was about to be asked.
“What is your relationship with Shane Hollander?” Marlow asked.
He didn’t ask ‘are you and Shane Hollander in a relationship?’. If he asked that, Ilya might have laughed and told him everything. As it was, he considered lying. He was pretty sure that at this point, Marlow would believe whatever Ilya told him. It was apparently clear to Marlow that something was different about Shane and Ilya, so if Ilya told him they were friends and that Shane had been reaching out to him about his father, Marlow would believe him. It technically wasn’t untrue.
It also wasn’t covering the part where they’d been fucking since they were nineteen years old.

Long years of experience kept Iruka's tone even: losing his temper meant losing customers, even if there weren't very many people in Konoha who did what he did.

The canon-divergent au in which Iruka graduates the academy, does 3 D-rank missions, and then retires, because his leg was badly crushed in the kyuubi attack—so he re-trains as a locksmith and makes chakra-manipulated locks.
A story about systemic structural power imbalances between shinobi and civilians and the various ways in which expectations of physical strength and implicit ableism are detrimental to community trust. In which Iruka finds himself stuck between worlds, all because Sharingan Kakashi demanded the impossible, and Iruka made him a quadruple-layered chakra lock.
