Summary
30 - year - old Daniel Buckley had been raising his 15 - year - old sister Maddie for three years while trying to juggle completing his medical residency.
It had been 8 years since they had seen their brother in person and five since they'd heard from him.
That is until one day Maddie is convinced she'd seen their allusive brother at her school responding to a false-alarm fire alarm.

When a fatal train crash kills dozens, eight strangers narrowly escape death thanks to a harrowing vision from Maya Johns - a quiet college student with a history of unexplained intuition. What initially begins as the search for a serial killer quickly turns into something darker; a battle against death itself. It's a race against time to help the survivors find a way to break the cycle. But is death out to collect it's dues from 23 years ago?
Joined by Thomas Burke, a former highway patrol officer turned federal consultant, and a big-brother figure to Kimberly, he's the only one who truly understands what's coming.

"Please," Laura insists, scrambling for her keys. She drops her phone to the tile with a clatter, which Natasha scoops up for her before she can react. "I don't know how long this meeting with Cooper's teacher will go, and Lila can't wait there by herself. They're closing the building early today, and I can't rely on Alice for the third time this week."
