Summary
Phainon returns from an errand to a living nightmare, the people vanished and the town crawling with monsters. Desperate and injured, he goes through an empty torii gate and collapses. He wakes in a mysterious shrine and finds that he’s crossed into another world altogether.
“You don’t belong in this place.” Fox Mask is looking at Phainon, his voice rich and deep. “Go back.”

Disappointingly, the yokai wishes written on the plaques aren’t so different from that of humans, though Phainon does discover a bamboo tube of blessed water on a stone to the side. Ohhh, make that two. Looking forward, he feels his heart jolt. There’s no blue light on the path, no kitsune to be seen.
Should he call out? He’s just opening his mouth when there’s a puff of smoke, and then Fox Mask is standing over him, looking Extremely Unimpressed.
“I… I found this,” Phainon explains weakly, holding up the divine water.
Fox Mask’s non-expression doesn’t change. “If you want such trivial things, ask.”
“Oh.” He can? “Okay.”
“Hold my sleeve.”
Phainon balks at the command, but Fox Mask seems very intolerant at present.Knowledge of Silent Hill f Canon not needed.

Summary
Phainon, drawn to the older version of himself with the faraway gaze, attempts to bridge the gap.
Khaslana, heart not yet hardened by repeated cycles of futility, allows it.
(And so the moth seals its fate in flames.)

Of what could have been between Phainon and Khaslana in Eternal Recurrence #1, had the latter's descent been more gradual.
But the outcome remains the same.

"I have no clue what you're talking about." Khaslana leans on the kitchen counter. "I'm not telepathic. It probably doesn't have to do with me, either."
Phainon tries not to set down his coffee cup too harshly. "I think it does when it has to do with Nanook."

spoilers for hsr 3.3
When it comes to predatory, soul-sucking gacha games, Cosmic Impact Rail Zero was probably the worst of the worst. Did it have incredible characters? Yes. An engaging storyline? Double yes. Did it make Mydei want to blow his entire paycheck on weapons and skins and more rolls? Of course it did.
But it also killed off basically every character in the game, including the crown prince that shared Mydei's name– Mydeimos the Undying, Son of Gorgo. How the hell was that even possible?! He literally had undying in his title!?
So when the developers ask for feedback, Mydei goes off on a heated tangent– and finds himself reincarnated as his namesake. You know– the doomed prince, destined for a life of hardship? Destined to die?
Not if Mydei has anything to say about it.
