    Fushiguro Megumi is a sigma, a rare secondary gender that is equivalent to an alpha but exists outside the omegaverse hierarchy. Sigma males are just as irresistibly attractive as alphas but aren’t saddled with the same desires. Instead, they’re laser focused on their grindset. Love is the last thing on their minds.

    For Fushiguro Megumi, this has all been true since he first presented as a sigma. Or has it?

    [I wrote this while high on paint fumes. I don’t read omegaverse and my only knowledge of sigma males comes from memes so please understand that this fic comes from a place of the highest ignorance.]

    Scaramouche’s life was a maze of tangled thoughts and unresolved dilemmas. While others his age built relationships and chased success, he remained distant, preferring the edges of life over the center.
    On occasion, he would feel a hollow ache, a yearning for something he couldn’t quite define. Yet he dismissed it as quickly as it arose, convincing himself he was above such needs, that solitude was strength. Deep down, though, he knew something essential was missing.
    That was until a series of unplanned and spectacularly poor choices shattered his well-kept facade. It led him down an unfamiliar path – a messy, chaotic road he’d never planned to explore. He stumbled into something unexpected—something warm and genuine that made him feel alive in ways he never had. For the first time, Scaramouche felt a sense of belonging. He felt human.
    Yet, his mind was a storm of contradictions. As warmth entered his life, so did fear, self-doubt, and the defenses he’d built over the years. These threatened to crush the fragile feeling before it could grow. Now, the question was whether he could hold onto this fragile sense of purpose or if he’d let his own chaotic mind destroy it–and his last chance at something real.
