An AU take on what would have happened if Val Jean had survived the destruction of the Array at the beginning of Star Trek Voyager – and Voyager was lost. The Maquis rescue a handful of the Starfleet crew, but their integration isn't as easy as it was in the series. Val Jean is a Firefly class cargo ship, and Chakotay is more of a space cowboy than a Starfleet captain. Can they survive the Kazon fleet pursuing them, bent on vengeance, and merge into a crew with a chance of getting home?
