Summary
Silco finds his muse in a cramped alleyway, vandalizing Academy property with a macabre painting of great talent. As Chair of the Arts College, it’s within his prerogative to admit her, no questions asked. And after the smallest taste of a girl named Jinx, Silco knows he has to keep her close.
Years after she ran away from (what’s left of) her family, Jinx has finally messed with the wrong enemy. Now that she’s on a chem-baron’s bad side she needs somewhere to lay low, and the Academy is the last place anyone would look for her.
That’s the easy explanation for why she takes a place at a Piltie school. The full truth isn’t so simple: that she craves the electric charge to the air while posing in Silco’s art studio, loves handing over her wavering control to this kind yet demanding man. With every day she spends in the classroom and every night she spends in his bed, Jinx wonders if this mysterious topsider might be the first person to truly see her.
