What Malcolm felt for Dani wasn’t simply a fire, a blaze of unimaginable heat. Fires extinguish; eventually they burn out. His love for her was like embers. It was ever-present, smoldering, burning beneath the surface and able to ignite a blaze at a moment’s notice. Quiet, but powerful.
