A story about how Darcy Lewis is recruited by SHIELD, becomes an agent, and uncovers the cover-up after Phil 'dies' before the battle of New York.
Darcy Lewis was a lot of things. Short. Brunette. Nearsighted. Snarky. Busty. Protective. Impulsive. Adaptable. Smarter than she usually let on. And occasionally violent.
She was not (and if she had her way) never would be anyone’s fool.
Which was why she eyed the stack of forms on the table in front of her with a sense of unease and distrust.
Ultimately this is my answer to a bunch of stuff on Tumblr I saw about wanting Darcy as an Agent of SHIELD in the new show coming up. This is how she gets there and how she ends up working for Coulson and with the Avengers.

Erik thinks he should because he's known her longer than any of those upstart Avengers. Thor thinks he should, after all Darcy is just like his little Midgardian sister. Tony thinks he should, because he's Tony-freaking-Stark, plus it's only fair since she's living in his tower. And Clint feels entitled because he taught her how to handle a gun. No one thinks Clint's reason makes much sense. Even Clint.
Darcy's entirely fed up with their crap.
What's a girl to do with only eight weeks till her wedding and the director of SHIELD showing up with unexpected wedding presents?

Jane said, as she poured them each a very stiff drink, that it looked like an experiment with explosives gone very wrong. Darcy wondered if maybe it hadn’t been some up and coming mad scientist who’d mixed the wrong things together.
Eventually the Avengers return to the tower and Steve tracks down Darcy.
