Summary
“ Beyond the treeline was not just rows and rows of flowers, but bushes lines with berries that looked bright and supple, a staggered cliff’s edge that opened into a small waterfall, feeding another brook that ran through the center of the meadow, and in the very center, rested a large boulder, overgrown with moss and cast in warm sunlight.
But more than that. Much, much more than that. Atop the rock, perched perfectly in the center pf the clearing, crowned in a halo of sunlight, sat a boy. A thin, elegant body with alabaster skin that shimmered in the sun, a messy head of dark hair, and a soft, inviting smile. His eyes, green as the forest around them, were locked on Levi, his eyelashes long and delicate as he blinked curiously down at the ex-marine, greeting in his gaze.
“Hello,” the boy tilted his head, much like a puppy. “

aka, what if the Hollow Men weren’t the only supernatural being lurking around the gorge? What if Levi stumbled upon a faerie one day while out hunting?

Summary
“I spend so much time chasing storms that sometimes I forget how nice a clear sky is.”
Javi clears his throat, and he wonders how Tyler can do that—take every preconceived notion Javi had about him and turn them, twist them all up till they’re wind-wracked and addled, damaged beyond repair. Javi doesn’t know who Tyler Owens is, he thinks, but damn if he doesn’t want to know now.
“Yeah, the Oklahoma sunset will do that to you.”

Summary
On a cold rainy day in San Diego, a family stood solemnly in the middle of a grave yard.
Carole Bradshaw's funeral was over. Her battle with the cancer that had taken her all to young, leaving her seventeen year old son an orphan adopted by his godfather and uncle. She was buried next to her husband, faithfully devoted to him until her end, never taking another lover in the thirteen years that had passed since his tragic death. There family of naval flight officers and pilots mourned the loss of a beloved sister, gone to rejoin there long lost brother.
Yet for some of them, they still had decisions to make and promises to keep."He'll never forgive you if you go the whole way Pete, you know that right."
"What else am i supposed to do Tom. I promised her that brad would live to be older than Nick."
"Then lets think about it. The academy is four years, and flight school is another year on top of that. thats five years, he's eighteen shortly, he'd be twenty three by then. Nick was twenty six when the accident happened. What if instead of doing it the way you're asking me to, we do something else."
"Like what?"
"I think... a delay in his class entrance perhaps."
