“Joonghyuk,” called The Worst Absolute Bastard of a Coworker, formally known as Kim Dokja. Yoo Joonghyuk almost squinted from the brightness of his smile. Two-faced rat. “Are you okay? You look moodier than usual. I’m not bothering you, am I?”
Yoo Joonghyuk grunted in response. Kim Dokja’s smile morphed into a sly smirk for a second before switching to cordiality before he nodded and went back to his work.
“I’mma leave it open like a door; come inside it—”
"Shut up."Yoo Joonghyuk is certain Kim Dokja is trying to get in his pants; in his weird and off-putting way. The feeling is very much not reciprocated.

Yoo Joonghyuk didn’t even look up from the box, “Jang Hayoung gave it to me.”
“And? Is it real?”
Yoo Joonghyuk narrowed his eyes and, ever so slightly, tilted his head staring at the skull. In the end, he shrugged. Kim Dokja wanted to punch him.
“Just put it in the important box.”
“The important box? Why? Also, I’m not touching that.”
“After everything that happened, you don’t want to touch the skull?”
“Maybe that’s exactly why I survived the apocalypse, you know. I don’t go around touching possibly cursed objects.”
Yoo Joonghyuk actually looked offended by that. Or as offended as he could look. Like a subtle twitch on his frown. “It’s not cursed.”

this is amazing
i absolutely love how good the tone in this fic is. the way serious topics are handled with care and understanding is just.... so respectful?? so compassionate??? and all while being able to have comedic scenes and a light-hearted mood throught the story. it's a really nuanced take on marriage and specifically on yoo joonghyuk's and kim dokja's relationship. their fall apart is understandable and them getting back together has been (so far) carefully slow burn.
i'm so in love with the concept of kim dokja having regression powers and yoo joonghyuk having mind reading ones. not only it's a fun and interesting role reversal, it also works great in this context.
i'm ranting yes but it's because i love this!! -

broke me down into trillion of fragments and I find myself scattered across multiple universes. IN TEARS. why is so so so fucking awesome. every single detail????? captures orv's writing perfectly but the author brings it up with their own style. characterization on point, story well told. felt like reading again..... one of my favorite reads ever on the Fandom.....
