The worst case would be that Merlin gets magnificently sunburnt, accidentally reveals his magic, is almost sacrificed to the Gods of the Isle, loses his memory, and finds himself on the run with an Arthur who is struggling to come to terms with Merlin's betrayal and the idea that magic is not all he was taught it was. This story is a combination of both scenarios.
