Summary
“Come, let me see you.” he motioned for him, “No need to hide.”
“I feel silly.” Shane admitted, and it’s quiet. He opened the door and stepped out, fidgeting with his hands again. “Uh, soft. Small.”
“Well, you’re trying to be like child, yes?” Ilya tried, and Shane took a moment before nodding. “Children are soft and small. That’s normal. They’re silly, too, sometimes. That’s all they’re meant to be.”
“Oh.” Shane ducked his head.
“Don’t worry about anything, okay? Just be soft and silly and small and I’ll take care of rest, yes?”
Or,
Shane Hollander's therapist recommended age regression to him as a way to take a break and unwind. It takes months of research and reassurance from Ilya Rozanov that he would be there for him before he finally agrees to try it out.
Ilya just hopes that this isn't a one-and-done deal, hopes that he will continue to be able to take care of his boy when he needs it.

Summary
What he wants to say next drifts up from the very depths of him, something he is completely and blissfully unaware of until it struggles to the surface and floats through the waters of his mind.
Night night, Papa.
Holy fuck.
Holy fuck.
—
Ilya subconsciously starts to think about Shane as Papa. He has a lot of feelings about this.

Summary
“I don’t call you kid because I think you’re stupid. I don’t think you’re stupid. You’d know if I thought you were stupid, because I would tell you. ‘Kid’ is a…” He trails off, free hand tapping thoughtful rhythms on the steering wheel, “…Nickname. Term of endearment. Whatever you want to call it, but it’s not derogatory.”
Jack holds up a second finger.
“You have not been taking care of yourself. If you were, you wouldn’t have a low grade fever, and you would’ve called me as your boss or one of your friends to drive you instead of walking to work in the rain after your car died. You’ve been surviving. There’s a difference.”

good things happen to those who are found crying in the supply closet by their hot, older, maybe flirty boss-slash-mentor.

Summary
You go pliant. You’re just about to accept and give into your husband's incessant pawing, but he can see the moment of your disillusionment. Your eyes flicker, narrowing as you slowly begin to shuffle up the bed, creating a distance that feels like a yawning chasm, but is, in reality, a mere few inches.
“Did you eat?”
He groans, his head falling forward slightly, cushioning his forehead against the comforter. “I was… about to,” he says, lifting his gaze again and tilting his head. He’s giving you that look of his. He thinks he’s so clever. Jack can predict your eye roll before it comes, and he watches intently as you turn over your thoughts in your head.
