Summary
Aaron works five jobs as a cleaner and general dogsbody. He lives a quiet life, even if it’s sometimes lonely, even if he has to count every penny, even if he works hard for little gain. He gets a sixth job at a studio and Marcus, his new boss, introduces him to Luke, a shy musician.

Vessel, struggling with self-doubt and depression, reluctantly stays with II after storm damage forces him out of his own apartment. Vessel tries to put on a brave face for II, tries to hide his inner demons but nothing can be hidden from II's soft gaze. II offers quiet support and Vessel, touched by his warmth and care, starts to feel a small sense of comfort and lightness, lifting the weight on his heart.

Summary
He peers down the street and sees a post office, a couple of small shops, and a pub. The difference between the city where he has an apartment and this village is stark.
Sam comes out of the shop nearly ten minutes later with a cardboard travel container of drinks. He laughs at something someone inside says and IV wishes – gut-wrenchingly – that he had anything left in him that could feel the way Sam looks right now. He feels like a husk of a person, and he wants – he wants that.
A man follows Sam to the threshold of the entrance and says something to Sam that IV can’t quite make out as he opens the car door. He keeps the shop door open with a cocked hip, and IV sits up to get a better look at him.
IV, burned out from his corporate job, visits his friends for the summer in the idyllic village where they live. He's expecting to get his head put on straight, not that he'll find love in the last place he expects it.
