When Harry Potter wakes the morning of June 17, 1996, he doesn't expect any of what happens in the next 24ish hours. Not the nightmare that night, not the battle in supposedly the most secure place in Britain, not the death of his closest parental figure, and certainly he was not expecting to awaken a creature inheritance.
