Sasha raised her solo cup and Anne clinked her can to it. They both tilted their heads back at the same time and drank. Despite the long absence, they were still in sync. It hurt Sasha’s heart, just a bit.
“Anyways, I was sent over here to drag you to play Spin the Bottle,” Anne said. Despite her words, she didn’t seem particularly intent on taking Sasha anywhere, just fidgeting with the tab of her energy drink. Her heel bounced against the ground at the same time.
“Should you be drinking caffeine this late?” Or at all went unsaid.
“It’s not like it’s a school night,” Anne replied and Sasha snorted.
“Fair enough.” She picked at her cup, wiping away lipstick marks from the white rim of it. “I don’t really wanna play Spin the Bottle.”
“Yeah, I don’t either.”

Sasha hadn't spoken to Anne in a long time, hadn't spent much time with her since Marcy had moved. Still, it was all too easy to sneak under the bleachers with her and ignore the rest of the world for a while.
