Inside Hope's room their were multiple grimoires. She had more than any other witch at the Salvatore School.
Once her Aunt Freya stopped practices full time, Hope took the liberty of studying every one that she could get her hands on.
But it wasn't those she was most interested in. Light Magic wouldn't help her with the goal she had in mind.
It was the ones that were under her bed. The grimoires that taught Black Magic.
Those were the ones that would help her.
Help her get her family back.
But Hope didn't go looking for that type of black magic.
Maybe it was fate that it came to her. Or, that's what she told herself to sleep at night.

Summary
Hope's consciousness ended up trapped inside her own subconscious after being ripped from Josie's mind. Simple enough to fix, all Josie and Lizzie needed to do was go in and pull Hope out. To do that though would require going through the worst parts of her mind, the parts even Hope wanted to avoid. Turns out being told about the things the young Tribrid had been through in no way prepared them for actually seeing it firsthand. Set right after Season 2 Finale.

Josie had always thought that if Hope ever found herself between Josie's legs, it would be the result of something a lot... different.
Not that Josie had ever thought about it at all of course!
She had just never expected Hope to be down on her knees in front of her, leaving a pair of prominent punctures on her neck, as opposed to sweet kisses.
"It won't hurt." Hope nudges her nose against the side of Josie's neck. "I promise." She swears it like an oath.
Josie hopes that her fingers aren't crossed behind her back.

Darcy stepped forward to take it from him, and then her instincts took over with the increased proximity to the mate-scent, unable to resist sniffing the man intently where he stood hunched against the wall. She rose up on her toes a little so she could get a good sniff at the crook of his shoulders where his scent glands were, just to confirm that he wasn't the source. "It's not you," Darcy said, mostly to herself, and stepped a half pace back, putting her ipod into her own pocket.
The man against the wall, against all expectation, burst into a wide smile, seeming irrationally pleased about something. Before Darcy could do more than raise her eyebrows, he held out his hand to introduce himself.
"I'm Clint," he said with a smile, "and I think we're going to get on just fine."
