Summary
In which Oikawa is 41 and ready to retire. He's at the top of his game and ready to find a new challenge. Turns out his new challenge is pretty familiar. It's high school, round 2.
It culminates three weeks after he woke up as a 16 year old, the coach asking him not to change for practice and instead go home. So Tooru does, he walks home alone.Laying in bed he wonders if he will ever find satisfaction in life. He almost feels as if Iwaizumi truly cursed him the first time around the night they had lost to Karasuno. The night Tooru had cracked open his ribs, pulled out his heart and laid out how grateful he was to everyone on the team for all their effort, for their perseverance, for their dedication and for their trust in him.

“They’re trying to prevent any…” Oikawa waves his hands around, “Canoodling with other athletes.”According to his teammates, who have been in the Olympic Village for approximately one day, it’s not working, but Oikawa is not as carefree and risky as his teammates. Besides, it’s not like he would bring somebody random into his room — not when Iwaizumi is in proximity.
He gets it, though. If he were a braver man, he’d test the bed’s durability by sweet-talking Iwaizumi into railing him into it, but alas, he is a coward, at least in this particular aspect of his life.
But when Oikawa thinks about it — there may be an opportunity here. If Iwaizumi is so sure about the beds being strong enough to handle two people, then, well, who is Oikawa to ever take a challenge to his beliefs lying down?
“Fine. We’ll test it.”

It isn’t until high school that the specialists give Tooru an official diagnosis. The biomagnetic field around his heart is too strong, far stronger than should be humanly possible, and that’s why it feels like an electric shock when you touch him. If you get within ten feet of Tooru, you can feel all his emotions, stark and obvious as if his ribcage is wide open, exposing his heart.
“You should have known, Iwa-chan,” Tooru says, lying on his back in the middle of Hajime’s bed, tossing a pillow in the air and catching it. “Everyone can see how magnetic I am. It’s all in my charm. You wouldn’t know about that.”
