Summary
Yeonjun met Beomgyu at a Catholic school. He didn’t give a damn about God. He was just shoved into the system by his parents, told to kneel and obey like it would save him.
Beomgyu, on the other hand, was a firm believer. He even wore a crucifix around his neck, for fuck’s sake.
But that was okay. Yeonjun liked it. Especially when it bounced off Beomgyu’s chest while he fucked him from behind.

Yeonjun leaned in and cocked his head, an amused grin playing on his lips as he asked: “You think I’m a bottom, Soobinnie?”
Soobin frowned. “What do you mean ‘think’? Of course you are. It’s obvious.”
“Obvious, huh?” the older said, looking him up and down as if he was reconsidering Soobin for the first time. “You got my bedroom tapped or something?”
Soobin scoffed: “Don’t need to when I’ve lived with you all through uni, hyung. I know your type, I saw you take home dozens of versions of the same dude. There’s no way you topped any of them.”
He didn’t expect that to make Yeonjun giggle and shrug, but that’s exactly what the older did.
“Maybe that’s my thing,” he quipped, eyes full of mirth.

Soobin is convinced Yeonjun is a bottom. He could not be more wrong.

And Soobin opened his eyes to find Yeonjun already looking at him, eyes full of patient understanding, foreheads still pressed together so they were almost uncomfortably close, but to Soobin they were never close enough. Soobin could never keep anything from him, and almost felt guilty about considering it in the first place, no matter his intentions.
“I…” He tried again, slowly, “You were dead…in my arms.” The words are barely a breath leaving Soobin’s lips, but of course they were close enough for Yeonjun to hear, and Soobin watched as Yeonjun’s face almost crumpled in understanding.
“Oh, my love,” Yeonjun breathed, heartbroken, as he pulled away from Soobin’s forehead only to press his face in the space between Soobin’s neck and his shoulder as he laid fully on top of him, wrapping his arms around his shoulders. “My baby, my baby, I’m so sorry.”And Soobin thought that was so Yeonjun, apologizing for something out of his control but hurt him none-the-less, hurt him to know that Soobin was hurting. Soobin shakily brought his arms around Yeonjun’s waist and pulled him as tightly against his body as he could. Breathed him in. Became a part of him, a part of each other.
“I’m right here.”

"No, it's not you."
Yeonjun welcomes the silence as Soobin stares blankly into his mug without a response. In comfortable static noise, he lets Soobin remain as mute as he needs to be until he is capable of forming his thoughts. It takes a couple minutes, just birds chirping in the distance and Yeonjun's eyes studying on the pattern of Soobin's underwear, and eventually Soobin starts in a small, exhausted voice, "What if I give up?"
"I'm sorry?" Yeonjun mutters, waiting for an explanation.
"If they’re happy, is that enough for us?"
(or, two lovesick boys bond through heartbreak and discover what they needed has always been there.)
