She thought that Marcus was all of those things, and that Lucifer wasn't most of them. But for the life of her, she couldn't figure out why her heart was telling her Marcus might not be it.
She hadn't been aware that her needs and wants had changed. That she had started expecting more from a man than dependability. That she had begun to want spontaneity and fun along with being good and just. That she had also started expecting gentlemanly along with dependable.

Summary
Minutes after being shot and then whisked away to safety, Chloe made it back to the loft just in time to see a red-skinned monst— figure standing up from Pierce’s lifeless body with a blade in his hand.
In a moment of panic that would be making her cringe for the rest of her life, she’d then freaked out and panicked like a rookie and grabbed the nearest gun she could find and now there were two bodies lying on the floor. Thank everything in the universe except Lucifer’s Dad, one of them was still breathing.
This was, beyond a doubt, the worst freaking day of Chloe’s life.
