Gawyn stared at it, bewildered. It was as if there was an invisible wall in front of him, which the arrow had struck. How…?
He turned to glare at al’Thor, skin crawling at the realization that saidin was being used right next to him. “Stop doing that,” he said.

What happens when an Aes Sedai from the Age of Legends finds herself in the Third Age? The Forsaken thought they were alone, but there's a new player in the game.
Before the War of Power erupted Taija Kosola had been a physics professor, happily ensconced in research. Like so many other aes sedai, the Shadow brought her peaceful, happy existence to an end and pulled her into a war she neither expected nor wanted. She should have died fighting one of the Forsaken during the War of Power, never living to see the final end to the Age of Legends.
What if, instead, she was trapped in a stasis box, freezing her in time until she was finally freed in the Third Age?

Stuffed into a black coat before she could blink, she soon gets caught up in the machinations of the Black Tower's leader, Mazrim Taim. He gives her a ter'angreal which allows her to channel (albeit imperfectly) and sets her spying on the Andoran royal court.
Unfortunately for Ashalyn, being a woman is no protection against the taint on saidin, and even less against being used for evil by the servants of the Shadow. And the Last Battle is coming....
